Abstract

This monograph considers the main directions of migration policy in today’s Russia in the context of international migration trends and migration situation changes in this country. The ongoing migration processes have been analyzed as part of the existing scientific approaches, using statistics data and the results of empirical sociological research in the Moscow Region as the major Russian centre of international labour attraction. The book designates the prospects of solving basic problems related to labour migration and migrants; expert recommendations are presented on how to improve the migration situation in Russia and in the Moscow Region.  This book is addressed to specialists engaging in migration policy studies, researchers of migration processes in Russia, sociologists, political scientists, and culture experts. It will also be of use to government officials whose terms of reference cover the implementation of national migration policy.
