Abstract

This paper deals with the analysis of some theories of justice in classical and contemporary sociology, including theories by K.Marx, H.Spencer, E.Durkheim, J.Habermas, L.Boltanski and L.Thévenot. It is affirmed that in contemporary sociology the justice is treated not only as an ideal and a value, not only as an object of study, but as a cognitive concept and an explanation principle. Justice as a multidimensional phenomenon is a mediator, concentration and expression of many other basic values of morality and society, such as legitimacy, equality, honesty, recognition, etc.
