Abstract

Civil identity softens ethnopolitical and ethnosocial inequality of people of different nationalities. However, widespread state-civil identity does not eliminate the social differentiation. It increases in the conditions of crisis. The analysis is based on the results of the all-Russian and regional researches of the Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2011-2016). The report shows that in these conditions the consolidation of multiethnic Russian society is supported by similarity of reactions and values of Russians and other Russian nationalities in the conditions of changing economic and political situation. Difference is in the degree of readiness to sacrifice for "the Revival of greatness of Russia and its defensive power".
