New drug situation in russia and the role of first drug experiments in its changes

Abstract

The article presents the results of the research devoted to a new drug situation in Russia. The article describes new features of the drug situation caused a new wave of drug addiction and the transformation of the causal complex which entailed the transition to “new” drugs. Age differences, characteristics of the first drugs experiments and their role in the subsequent drug abuse are examined. Motives of initiation to drugs have been studied in different age and gender groups. It was found that the habitual, dependent consumption is characteristic only for certain, sequestered populations. In addition, pattern of episodic drug use is almost common in all groups
