Abstract

Cultural and anthropological components of terrorism are considered. The factors discouraging the development of universally valid understanding of this phenomenon are discussed, those being self-demonstration of terrorists and the state-performed terrorism. For the first time in scientific literature analytical definition of terrorism is suggesting: terrorism is the action of the individual or a group of persons aimed at intimidating of other people, at submission them to the will with a view to establish the order declared by by some or other ideology (whose followers the terrorists are); at the same time using the methods which are beyond the ways of resolution of con-flicts accepted in this community; first of all, indiscriminate psychological, moral and physical abuse so that their victims are quite random people.
