Abstract

The article discusses how state social services provided to older people in social service Institutions, help protect the older generation of the Russian capital from social risks. The author's approach is the rationale of social risk of the elderly in which they are the most vulnerable on the basis of the methodology of sociology of risk and empirical data of regular monitoring of the level and quality of life of older residents. In addition, the article presents some results of focus discussions with specialists of industry. Analyzed social work with the elderly Muscovites of risk group, and also examines the contributions of social workers of system of social protection of Moscow population in the mitigation of social risks for older people and reduce risk metropolis, as a living environment.
