Abstract

The authors conclude that population change, age-sex and marital structure of the population, the structure of births, the reproductive attitudes, as well as migration processes have a determining influence on the number of births. These trends should be taken into account when setting targets of population policies and the evaluation of the means and opportunities to achieve them.
