Abstract

In the article, through the actualization of the experience of a number of sociological and ethnographic studies conducted in various regions of Russia, the author comes to the conclusion that, in modern conditions, the family as an institution reproduces an ethnocultural identity spontaneously and at a profound level. The translation of the values of ethnic culture occurs through the intensive inclusion of children in the everyday life of the family through traditional gender and role models of behavior, language, religion, folklore, etc. Creating a certain space of socialization, the family forms the basis of ethnically colored patterns of behavior and ethno-cultural self-identification. At the same time, this tendency is most clearly manifested in rural localities and multigenerational families.
