Abstract

The article discusses the ways of transformation of traditional types of conflicts under the influence of the new information technologies. The wide access to information resources and early socialization of youth undermine traditional hierarchical basis for the development of social space. On the other hand, technological growth increases manipulative potential of new forms of mass media. The development of horizontal communication principles of social structuration and the erection of artificial barriers on this way by the traditional centres of power becomes the focus of a struggle for the shape of new socio-cultural sphere.
