Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of rapidly changing drug situation, the formation of differ-ent ways of transition to “new” models of drug consumption, the detection of the role of “controlled” drug use in the process of narcotization of different age groups. The features of the current drug situation are considered. Positive changes are revealed: a decrease in the total number of persons registered with the diagnosis of drug addiction, decrease in the incidence of opioid drug addiction, injecting drug users. At the same time, the country is entering the stage of mass veiled (hidden) drug consumption. The growth of the population's interest to various psychostimulants has been recorded. There was a significant expansion of their market – a whole class of new drugs appeared. Availability and, in some cases, cheapness of “new drugs” create conditions for various kinds of drug experiments both for regular and occasional drug users and for those who are prone to the first trials. This has led to a change in methods of drug use, to an increase of combined drug use. Such models as “status”, “recreational”, “club” drug use have become widespread among certain groups of the population. Real prac-tices of controlled drug consumption are revealed and shown. Such “controlled” consumption is most often an intermediate stage in the formation of drug addiction with a delayed period and requires special forms of social control.
