Abstract

Social well-being of disabled persons is considered in modern science, as a rule, from a socio-economic, socio-medical, legal and psychological point of view. Despite the fact that since 2010 there has beena decrease in the number of disa-bled persons in the first and the second disability groups, the number of disabled persons of the third group and disabled children has increased, and the number of disabled persons in Russia was more than 12 million as of January 1,Социальное самочувствие лиц с ограниченными возможностями здоровья672018. A sociological study was conducted focusing on the problems of disabled persons and the attitude of student youth to these problems, relationships with disabled persons, factors affecting the birth of a disabled child and the state of social infrastructure for the disabled. In the course of the study, persons with disabilities (males and females aged from 8 to 93) who have a certain disability group (N= 139, target sample) were interviewed, and full-time students of the Nizhny Novgorod Law Academy and Lobachevsky University were interviewed (N= 169, quota sample) by the method of individual questionnaire. The purpose of the study was to identify problems and features of disabled persons' social well-being. The investigation revealed the problems that disabled persons face, the key forms of employment for disabled people, employment opportunities, accessible forms of education, the level of inclusion of disabled persons in the Internet space, services and assistance that disabled people need, types of family relationships, violence and abuse to which certain categories of persons with disabilities were exposed, and the quality of life of disabled persons. The article presents a comparative analysis of disabled persons' need and ability to perform certain actions in everyday life.We also analyze the attitude of students to interaction with disabled persons and to disability problems of the populat.
