Abstract

The paper is covering analysis of urban workers’ communication as a one of daily activities that can be recognized as developing, culture saving, adaptation resource. The authors are sharing the opinion of some scientists that communication is a separate activity in terms of its functions: creating culture and consolidating people. The article is analyzing communication with its parameters of daily activity including objective and subjective parameters. The scale of coherence and concordance of these objective and subjective parameters indicates either there are any gap between willing in regards of communication and actual behavior (amount of time for communication). This gap is caused by unequal possibilities for spending leisure time. Time for communication depends on social characteristics of workers. Men spend more time for this activity than women. Age, education and income provide diff erent impact on amount of time if to compare men and women. More time consuming practice among other types of communication are types of activities which refer to virtual communication that makes behavior of Russian workers similar with behavior of workers in other European countries. Despite that the visiting of friends (dinners with friends) is keeping its position as a type of communication (opposite trend in European countries), there is no growth of value of communication inside of families. Children and teenagers are the most suff ering from this trend social group because of their demand for communication with parents and other family members.
