Abstract

The paper is dedicated to the problem of theoretical approaches in empirical sociological studies of social development. The limitations of modern theories related to the insufficient potential of explanatory irrelevance of their concepts to Russian reality are considered. The paper reveals the reasons of dialectic logic theoretical instruments` usage. They are related to the impossibility of the revealed paradoxes` explanation within modern theoretical approaches. One of these paradoxes is concerned with the activity of Russian and Soviet systems of management and governance. The other one is related to the formalization and algorythmization of social interactions and functioning of a social action in Western civil society. The implementation of dialectic logic for the study of development processеs and revealing the contradictions of social action and its subject in these processes are shown. The possibilities of dialectics in combination with polyparadigmal approach requiring critical analysis of the theories and revealing the correlations with the historical context in which these theories emerged are presented. The conclusion is made on the effectiveness of dialectic logic instruments` usage for studying various versions of progress, including Russian development ones which historically took place in the situation of limited market.
