Abstract

The civilizational aspect of the conservative ideological turn in Russian society of the 2010s is considered. It is noted that the thesis about the unique civilizational identity of Russia occupies one of the central places in the discourse of the political elite in the indicated period. Various approaches to the analysis of such a discourse are highlighted, presented mainly in the works of foreign researchers. Particular attention is paid to those of them in which there is a sociological analysis of social groups acting as carriers of various versions of conservative ideology. At the same time, it is emphasized that the study of the civilizational discourse of the Russian political elite is insufficient to reveal the specifics of the conservative turn. It is shown that civilizational themes can be correlated with certain variants of the interpretation of modernity. The use of the concept of the interpretation of modernity for the study of ideological trends in modern Russian society is substantiated.
