Abstract

Drawing on the analysis of a scientifi c literature and on my own fi ft y year researches of socio-ecological information global processes, I came to the necessity of complex analysis of global structural-functional transformations generated by a global and Russia’s transition to the Fourth scientifi c-and-technological revolution (hereaft er the STR-4) and a shaping under these conditions an information society in Russia. In the article the following consequences are analyzed: the changes in the methodology and theory of such shift ; an issue of ‘speeding up’ of a social time and a ‘compression’ of social space; the quantitative and qualitative changes in the above society; an issue of shaping of an information living environment; an issue of the information society and so-called techno-science relationships; a response of mass social movements to the techno-science imperatives; the processes of shaping of a social order in information society; and the reaction of the individuals and their groups on the ongoing transformations. Th e author came to conclusion that: the more a society stronger technologically the more a shift in its ideology and politics toward new engineering, biochemical and ecological technologies, and the greater accumulated potential of fi nancial and political capital the higher the risk of a self-annihilation of humanity. A shaping of a global sociobiotechnical system (hereaft er the SBT-system) is the basic meta-theoretical position of the author. Th e adequate interpretation of structural-functional organization and dynamics of such complex global SBT-system is possible by the means of an interdisciplinary analysis, or more precisely, by the methods of many-sided study based on the ‘triad’: scientifi c knowledge–uninterrupted retraining–public participation in that processes. Th e ‘individual–living environment’ relationships have to be studied in the same way. At the same time a feedback between a living milieu and an actor which are both under the process of permanent changes should be investigated as well. In sum, to resist to the shift toward total self-annihilation of global society is possible by means of united eff orts of humanity only in defense of peace and safety of people.
