The collapse of the USSR and the subsequent reforms turned the former superpower into a country without sovereignty and without national interests. These issues have been already quite actively discussed by public and recently in the scientific literature.Conclusion. Considering the real attitude of the Russians to the occurred changes and in response to the rigid sanctions of the Western countries, Russia should use the 'window of opportunities to reach an effective and socially responsible development.
