Abstract

The article considers online learning as an innovative way of obtaining education. By 2024, at least 20% of Russian university students should switch to online education, which already creates a competitive environment. The advantages of online learning are considered from the point of view of the structural functionalism of T. Parsons and the views of Zh.Lyotard. Other advantages of online learning include the availability of training, the opportunity to gain new knowledge on their professional topics, the opportunity to gain new knowledge on interesting topics that are not related to the profession, the expansion of their social connections, the opportunity to participate in a new form of interaction between students and teachers, as they are connected through social networks and open educational resources. Online learning also has content, pedagogical, and organizational limitations. One of the significant limitations is the digital competence of teachers, the method of programmed training, and technical equipment. Online learning also has risks. One of the most significant is the incompleteness of training.2019, 2020.
