Abstract

The paper analyzes trends in the development of labor migration to Russia at the stage of national economy’s recovery from recession. The goal of the study is to identify and disclose features, factors, and effects of labor migration in relation to the functioning of the labor market and changes in employment. The article analyzes the consequences of the COVID-19 epidemic which the international labor exchange in Russian society turned out to be sensitive to. The analysis of the situation on the labor market and its impact on the status of labor migrants in the new economic reality is conducted. Special attention is paid to the problems of implementing the state policy in the field of labor immigration in the context of the changing needs of the Russian economy for labor resources, on the one hand, and the contradictory effects of the influx of foreign labor for employment, on the other hand.
