Abstract

The article discusses the barriers to education: socio-cultural, economic, territorial and others. The results of research carried out on national empirical data from the 1960s are presented. The significant impact of barriers on the formation of educational and professional careers of young people is shown. Overcoming barriers becomes possible if the family has the resources to get over them; otherwise, children are forced to adjust their intentions by lowering their demands for education. It is noted that the study of barriers can serve as a scientific basis for social policy in the field of education, aimed at creating equal opportunities for young people.
