Abstract

The article analyzes the dynamics and content components of the all-Russian identity, its actualization and spread among the country’s citizens, including in various regions of the Federation and various socio-demographic environments. It is concluded that the all-Russian identity is widespread and has had a positive trend, but at the same time, it is dynamic, depends on the political and socio-economic conditions in the country and regions, and reflects the current public mood. The greatest contribution to the semantic content of the all-Russian identity is made by ideas about the common state, the Russian language, the native land, territory, and a smaller – historical past, culture and responsibility for the fate of the country. It is concluded that the efforts of society and the authorities are necessary to form an all-Russian culture and the civil component of all-Russian identity, common values within the framework of a consolidating identity. The empirical basis of the study was the all-Russian sociological surveys conducted by the Institute of sociology of FCTAS RAS in 2020, FADN–WCIOM in 2019, and surveys conducted in the regions by the Center for research of interethnic relations of Institute of Sociology of FCTAS RAS in 2015–2019
