Abstract

Relevance of the study. An important factor in the quality of life today is the level of informatiza-tion of the daily life of the population, especially in megacities. Information and communication technologies (ICTs) are one of the most important factors influencing the formation of the twenty-first century society. Their revolutionary impact concerns people's way of life, their education and work, as well as their interaction with power structures. The purpose of the study is to analyze the state and prospects of the development of the (ICT) industry in Russia, to identify problems of implementing existing IT solutions to simplify the interaction of authorities at different levels with citizens. Practical significance. The article shows the advantages of the development and implementation of ICT in different spheres of human life, the interaction of municipal bodies, authori-ties with residents. The article shows the trends in the development of the IT sector, as well as identifies problems that hinder digitalization in the regions.
