Abstract

The problem of statistical observation of the facts, causes and consequences of violence, in particular sexual violence, is outlined by the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the situation: there is a sharp increase in violence against women and girls in the world, and the number of cases of domestic violence has significantly increased. Sexual violence appears to be one of the main risk factors for women's vulnerability in health care, mainly reproductive and psychological, which determines the significance of a statistical assessment of the scale, prevalence and socio-economic consequences of this phenomenon. The article presents the substantiation of the possibilities and the main methodological problems of conducting such a quantitative assessment.
