Abstract

The article is devoted to the assessment of the state of interethnic relations based on the results of a sociological study carried out during the coronavirus pandemic. The article analyzes the assessment of interethnic relations by the population of the country, considers the social factors that determine the grounds of interethnic harmony and the directions of possible tensions in an ethnically diverse society. 80% of Russians rate interethnic relations as calm. Dissatisfaction with the general situation in the country and with one's financial situation in the conditions of the current socio-economic situation can most likely become a source of possible ethnically marked social tensions. The analysis is based on the results of a representative survey carried out within the framework of the project All-Russian Identity and Interethnic Relations: Social Practice, Public Discourse and Management Decisions (L. M. Drobizheva) in august-september 2020 (2000 observation units).
