Abstract

The problem of research. This paper examines some characteristics of conflict management in the context of their participation in the regional conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia. A systematic chronology of verbal and physical events related to the conflict is provided. The author examines the attitude and participation of the following representatives of political management in the conflict: the President, the government, experts, the military, political parties, public organizations, lobbyists, informal leaders, the media, and the people. Regression dependences of the influence of age and the level of involvement in the conflict on value judgments are obtained. The data on the readiness of conflict management to use force to resolve the conflict and the characteristics of their understanding of the conflict situation are obtained. The dependences of the influence of social and status factors of conflict management on the desire of their participation in the regional conflict are obtained. Conclusions. The conclusions confirm the important role of experts and Russia in preventing military solutions to the regional conflict. It is also noted that the proposed methodology allows us to determine the possibility of a transition of a regional conflict into a hot phase, and this methodology for the study of regional conflicts should be in the arsenal of conflict management.
