Abstract

The subject of the study was the life strategies (plans) of the population of the city of Nadym in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The empirical basis of the study was data (historical sources and primary sociological data of in-depth interviews) of a qualitative sociological study carried out in two types: historical research (oral history), during which the subjective experience of experiencing historical events related to the development of the Medvezhye deposit and the construction of the city was studied Nadym; case study, during which the socio-cultural characteristics of residents and the urban environment of the modern city of Nadym were studied, including, in the context of the impact on migration plans, rootedness. The article presents the results of a sociological study, in which the complex considers the urban environment of the city of Nadym in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the socio-cultural portrait and life strategies (plans) of its residents in the context of the formation of approaches to the further choice of ways of economic, social and cultural development of the city of Nadym. The population of the city is mostly represented by public sector workers and oil and gas enterprises. The life strategies (plans) of Nadym residents are typical for the population of the northern territories of Russia. Life in Nadym is primarily related to work and is of a temporary nature (for the period of labor activity).
